A real case of deja vu

Something For Kate were trapped in one of those classic life-imitating-art moments last week. After spending a long day filming a complex video for their new single Deja Vu in Brisbane, the band returned to Melbourne more than happy with the results. Until they had to go to Brisbane and film the whole thing all over again because an undetected technical hitch with the camera had ruined the shoot.

"Perhaps we were tempting fate calling the song Deja Vu," frontman Paul Dempsey said.

"Videos are never our favourite thing in the world but we do get deeply involved in the concepts for them.

"We felt good about it and the shoot went really well and then after it was all done and I was back home, we get the call that there was a technical problem with the camera which was beyond anyone's control.

"So we found ourselves back in Brisbane reshooting the clip.

"Of course, there were plenty of jokes about having been here before but it was really odd."

Something For Kate launch the track and showcase more new songs at The Metro on Friday.
