Q&A With Something For Kate
Newcastle Herald, November 8 2001

Full name: Stephanie Ashworth
Date of birth: 28/10/80 ha!
Earliest memory: Reaching up to try and reach a door handle ... unsuccessfully.
Childhood pin-up: The Smiths and Jimmy Dean.
Silliest thing you've done: Apparently I swam in very close vicinity with sharks in the water in Thailand last year.
Bravest thing you've done: Get in rental cars alone with Clint (band mate) on LA freeways - neither of us have any sense of direction or navigational skill.
Is image all about hair: Unfortunately it does seem that hair takes precedence over one's innate sense of style.
Favourite indulgence: Marinated tofu.
Worst habit: Uncontrollable pessimism.
Three things you would take to a desert island: What's the point of bringing anything? I'm only going to die an early and uncomfortable death anyway. Seriously though, I'd take my boy, a vast amount of chocolate and many cigarettes.
Favourite kitchen appliance: Garlic crusher.
Whom do you most admire: My partner.
If a movie was made of your life, who would play you: I would love it to be Cate Blanchett. She's what I call a fine woman of quality.
Tea or coffee? Irish Breakfast tea with honey and full cream milk.

Stephanie Ashworth plays bass in Australian group Something For Kate. She's pictured above with fellow band members Paul Dempsey and Clint Hyndman. The group has had a successful year following the release of their platinum third album, Echolalia. The band has performed in Newcastle four times this year, most recently at a sell-out show with Powderfinger at ClubNova and released their latest single, 20 Years, on Monday.
