Q. Is Monsters your favourite track?
A. I feel like each one of them is capturing something that I was
going through at the time.
Q. So far you've only released albums in Australia. Do you have game
plan for world domination?
A. We're trying to get our records released in as many places as
possible so that we can share our music with as many people as
possible. But world domination? Not quite.
Q. What kind of impact does touring have on your social life?
A. We've been doing this for so long now that our social life exists
on the touring circuit. We see our friends all over the country.
Q. Do you enjoy seeing other musicians play?
A. Yeah. If it's a band that your want to see, then you go and see
them. If there are bands we like then chances are they'll be playing
with us at some point.
Q. Name a band you'd go out and see.
A. Augie March
Q. Any memorable gigs that spring to mind?
A. We played a festival in Brisbane and a storm broke out as we were
onstage.. The rain was coming down, the field turned to mud and the
crowd started having mud fights. Under-18's started seeking shelter
in the alcohol tent, which prompted the police to move in and sort
everybody out, which eventually turned into a riot, with riot police
and military police and arrests.
Q. What's one of your favourite restaurants?
A. Kanpai, a Japanese restaurant on Chapel St. Aya's another Japanese
restaurant, in Armadale on High St.
Q. And a favourite drinking hole in Melbourne?
A. The Flying Duck's a nice little old pub in a back street of
Prahran off the main strip.
Something For Kate's new album, Echolalia, is released Monday.
