Thank you to Something For Kate for being of the best bands around and putting on such a great all ages show at the chelsea in brisbane on saturday 26th sep. One dissapointment however was the crowd! I was standing there in the front row thinking to myself about how such a great band could perform to such a small crowd, so c'mon people! Get out there and support australian bands. It cost me eight dollars for one of the best nights i've had in a long time. Thanks to the band (Paul, Clint and Stephanie) also for signing my cd and to clint for the playlist.
If you haven't already bought elsewhere for 8 minutes yet; go out and buy it cos its one of the best albums ever!

They played the best they have ever played...i consider myself lucky to be there and to have had the chance to be introduced to all 3 band members and actually sit down and have a drink with myfavorite band.
Also just recently during the uni's 'O' week Pollyanna, SFK, Area 7 and others played at my campus.......

I had the privilege of seeing the oh so great Something For Kate, play at the Hi FI Bar a few weeks ago, with The Anyones and Motorace and Dallas Crane as part of a benefit gig for Care Australia. Man it was awesome! And i managed to talk to Paul after the show and he's such a top bloke. So funny too. Cos me and my girlfriend were standing there talking to him and some guy came up and asked him for a photo, and seeing as he's not all that keen on 'obsessed fans' or whatever, he was like "um, why don't you have a photo with her (pointing to my girlfriend), she's cute"

I managed to catch the guys last week at The Falls and they were awesome. They made the queues, weather, prices and all the other disorganised bullshit that was Falls 99, actually worthwhile. I especially enjoyed the playing of 'Pinstripe' and 'Before Butterfly's Wings' and I thought they blew all the other bands away.
Why the fuck a great aussie band like SFK can't be used to bring in the new year instead of washed up old grandpa's like the Violent Femmes, I will never know.

I jsut found this site and i think you've done a fine job at it mate. The lyrics page is reeeeel nice, and i've since found after reading it that i ahve SO been singing some of the lyrics wrong... thankyou for saving me MAJOR future embarassment at the "splendour in the grass" faestival which is comming up.
the second thing is, i'm finding it really scarey taht triple m have caught hold of s4k. surely this is the end??? specially as they claim to be "unearthing" them. I just bought my first Something for Kate CD - Elsewhere for 8 Minutes. The first song i heard from this band was Pinstripe (acoustic), which is one of the best songs i've ever heard. Although, on the album the song is still good, but doesn't even compare to the acoustic version. Does anyone know if there are any purchasable acoustic compilations by Paul Dempsey. It's amazing to see that Triple M have recently sort of adopted SFK. SOme people say that this is a bad thing, but i say that its great coz more publicity. Paul extends so much energy into the crowd and is somewhat a gracious person.
