Sandpit formed in 1995 with Brendan Webb on Guitar & Vocals, Stephanie Ashworth on Bass and Paul Sciacca on Drums. The toured around in small pubs and clubs like any young band and they released an EP called 'Lessons in Posture' in late 1995 and released another EP called 'Tyranny of Creeps' in 1997. Their sound was unusual, often with strange guitar tuning which gave them their unique sound. Some critics (who no doubt only looked superficially) compared them to Sonic Youth. Paul Sciacca was replaced by Greg Wales in 1997. They released an album called 'On Second Thought' in 1998 but unfortunately they split up soon after. They released an album called 'The Hunting Picture' which contained their first two EP's. Stephanie joined Something for Kate when their bass player, Toby Ralph left the band, and the other two Sandpit members moved on to seperate projects. Stephanie provided Sfk with a new angle to songwriting. Sfk have soared to new hights with her.
